Update

 It's out! Emergent

So I just barely squeeked by getting two books out this year. I'm going to try and do better next year.

I don't do resolutions as they never seem to last longer than the month. But I do make short-term goals toward my writing. This year I'm going to try to concentrate on getting out Novella 3 of the Elemental Voice companion series, book 3 of Ghostwolf and the first book in my new Urban Fantasy series. I may even slip in the next book in this series as a doodler. 

I'm actually tried this story out in Kindle Vella. But they're closing down Vella now. Sorry to see it go but them's the breaks.

The next book in this series in my writing queue but still down low in the line. Slotted to be out with the Fallborn books in 2027. This series moved toward the bottom of the queue after I rearranged the queue because I had movement on two other series. Once I have those books written I will reassess my queue again. Until then these books are far down the queue. 

Tyler Cramton is the rim colony's town tramp. Every place had one, the person who was drunk most of the time and did the odd jobs that others didn't want to do. Barely useful. Until the unthinkable happened. A concealed Cren scout ship landed and took over the colony town during a sandstorm. Suddenly Tyler's hidden past was relevant and needed. She needed to oust the Cren and warn the Port before the rest of the Cren ships showed up to take control of the whole planet. 

I'm still working on my two Urban Fantasy series. I have three of them to finish then my Alliance book to get out before I think about getting into this series and my Fallborn series. I'm hoping to get this next book and a Fallborn book out by 2027.  But my muse is fickle and does what she wants, not what I want.

Some AMZ KDP accounts have been terminated because of piracy. A pirate takes our ebook and puts it on other sites and the author gets their account terminated because that breaks the terms and conditions of KU. I'm going to leave my Tina books on/in AMZ/KU but some of my  T.L. books are in Ingram Sparks and will go wide.

Each Time-Lost and Fallborn book is a standalone.

2024 Update

Update July 2024: Not finished yet. 2 episodes to go. But I have finished the new cover. TLR

Update May 2024: My muse has been working on this on Vella quite a bit. I'm about 5 episodes(chapters) away from finishing this I think. This turned into a novella, I'm at 20,000+ words and I don't think it will be more than 8,000 more words to the end.  The Zon has changed up a few things on KV. The first 10 episodes are free now and episodes cost only 10 tokens no matter the word count. I don't know how this will affect us writers. We are all just waiting and seeing.   Emergent is tentatively scheduled to be published as an ebook/book in August. I am holding off on adding any new stories to Vella so I will only be working on the ones already there. TLR

Next Book of the Time-Lost Series

 Redid the cover and have about 1/3 of the book done. 

Each book is a standalone about one of the Time-Lost and their impact on the time and place they settle.

Right now I have four female MCs and one male MC so five books so far in this series.

Next Time-lost book

 Emergent is the next Time-lost book. It's slated to come out after the Alliance book.

The cover is done. Here's a preview.

It's set after Resurgent. 

Captain Meghan Littwin is Sara's sister and captain of a very special space ship. The conspiracy that Sara uncovered has far more reach than just one planet and 'Litty' is in the middle.  

The Cren are ancient enemies of humanity. Humans are little more than cattle to them. Their Gambit failed on one planet but they are playing the long game.

Thus begins Emergent.

Now status

The Amazon ad is done.

Had some reads. I had 10 keywords but only two got any hits. Need to come up with some words before I try another ad.

I thought the book would sell as sci-fi is popular. Perhaps I'm right about the name turning people off. With everything that's been going on maybe the name brings negative connotations.

Emergent is slated to come up after the next dragon book. It's already a third of the way done. I'm still working on the Bible of course. They're never done till the book is.

Amazon ad

I set up an Amazon ad for Resurgent.

Only one sale. Jan. She wrote a review. She always buys my books and leaves a review. I wish everyone was good as her about leaving reviews.

$5 spent but no sales yet. No reads either.

I'm worried about the name. Maybe it's turning people off. With all that's happening maybe that name is bothering people? I don't know. Maybe it's just a late bloomer.

I'll see. I got 6 days to go yet.

Meanwhile maybe I'll think of an alternate title. Though I choose this one with care. The whole series titles really.  Or at least these first three that I have started.

Book is out!

Resurgent is published.

Both ebook and hardcopy. I just splashed it all over my FB groups. Free with Kindle unlimited and $2.99 regular. Hardcopy is $7.99. 

I set up an Amazon ad. But only for a week or so. I only have 3 keywords. I don't know what to put. I'll see how this ad goes.

Authors love feedback. So if you read please review.

Proof

Proof is being proofread. Looks good to me. Wanted it simple the cover. I read through it and didn't see anything wrong but then I wouldn't. :)

So hopefully it will be out by the end of the month. I got the FB post ready to go. And I plan to have a Amazon ad. Since it's a sci-fi book it might sell better. We shall see.

Next book is ready to start. I have the cover done as well. So Emergent is a go whenever I want.

I got a supernatural mystery and an Alliance book to get out before I do the second book of either time-lost or Fallborn. The plot bunnies are ruthless. They all want time but I can't do more than two books at a time or I lose concentration and nothing gets done.

Just how I wanted.

Sharon should get her copy tomorrow. Then she can find a proofreader. Two more steps til release.

Still shooting for the end of the month.

Thoughts

I should get the proof Monday or Tuesday.

So it should be out by the end of the month. I plan to have a Amazon ad as soon as I can.
I think it will stir up interest at least. Sci-fi may stir up interest of its own.

I got a FB post ready for the groups. I really don't know if posting in the groups help. It seems only writers go there and most of them don't read or buy. 

We're obsessed with our own book or have sacrificed reading for writing. I read only specific writers besides writer's digest myself.  I have read two books by Springfield Missouri authors and liked them but I'm not an adventurous type.  I stick with my try-and-true authors.

Money is also a consideration. If the Kindle is over$2.99 I won't get it. I'll pay more for a hardcopy if the shipping is free or at least reasonable. But I don't have a money tree in my backyard. And a fixed income leaves little wiggle room.

Proof is ordered

Resurgent is uploaded and proof ordered. So I should have it by next week.

End of July maybe for release. Depends on how long it takes to proofread the book.

I can't wait to hold it in my hand. Just something about a hardcopy in hand that stirs up the excitement.

Signing idea

I decided to write a saying in the language that the Ilan language derived from.

Maim hara Gaya hum!

Then sign and date.

Do you think that's a good idea?

 To leave the reader guessing a bit. If they ask about it I would just say it is from the language Ilan originally came from. And let them look it up if they choose.  A bit of mystery.

While I was messing around with languages I looked at Gaelic. The Irish and Scott's had demon gods too. And the people of Greenpeace live in Clans but I went with my original plan though I added Irish and Scott's bits. It wouldn't be inconceivable that the two peoples mixed when they decided to colonize.

Sharon hasn't gotten to Resurgent yet. She's been working on another book that's been taking a while. She said that mine is next.

Status

Sharon says today or tomorrow she should be working on my sci-fi book Resurgent. So she'll correct and upload by Wednesday.

Then I can order the proof.

So July.

I looked at Emergent's cover again. I still like it for the book.

All my covers have a look for each series. If you look at my older books you'll see what I mean.

I still have the three books open. But I'm leaning more towards the Alliance book right now. However I might just work on all three for awhile.

Status now

New first chapter was looked at and returned. Sharon is going to correct the book as soon as possible and upload.

So I'll be ordering the proof soon.

I've worked a bit on Emergent.  Introduced the characters. Gave a hint of the plot.

Still not sure which story I want to be next. Though the Alliance book bunny is kicking up a ruckus. The other two are just thumping right now.  I'm thinking about writing on all three for awhile until one jumps ahead.

Next

Resurgent has been returned.

The readers said that the beginning was slow until chapter two. So I dropped the prologue and first chapter. Added a bit to the new first chapter, then sent it back.

So has to be looked at again

Then it will be on to the next step.

This should be out by the end of the month if I don't have to make anymore corrections. That is dependent upon when I can get the proof and look that over. So maybe I should say by end of July. Just to be safe.
