Their society is Hive-based with the Queen being the ruler and her mates her advisors of the Hive. The structure of their society is the Queen, Soldiers who are male and from which she chooses two mates, and drones who are neutral and make up most of the Hive.
There are three Queens and they rule their section of space.
However they have stripped most of the resources from their planets and instead of taking action to renew what they can of those resources they decided to take what they needed from others. Thus the periodic wars with humans and the other races. Because they do the same stripping on their new planets as they had their old and have to take more to get new resources. During these wars, drones are used as baseline troops with the Soldiers as Commanders and Lieutenants.
Also they are carnivorous and the Queen lays her larva in the carcass. They do not differentiate between humans or the other race and dumb animals that they use for these purposes.
